Our Position

We, European Plasticisers, are committed to the safety of our products and their full compliance with the EU’s legislative framework. Where appropriate, we strive to provide science-driven contributions to facilitate the decision-making process on policy actions, related to plasticisers, and are open to dialogue with the relevant stakeholders.

Industry dedicated to innovation

As indicated in the VinylPlus 2021 Progress Report, over the past 25 years, the European plasticiser industry has invested over €6 billion in research and development, product safety and sustainability The dedication of the industry to innovation enabled the replacement of substances classified as SVHC with plasticisers that are safe for use.

In line with its dedication to sustainability, the industry is investing in solutions based on renewable raw materials for plasticisers used in PVC. These solutions (bio-based, bio-mass balanced, etc.) reduce the use of fossil based materials and energy, thus lower greenhouse gas emissions, without compromising on performance.
